So, what’s there to know about felixmarcus.com? Well, let me tell you!
My name is Marcus Jeffrey, and I’m the author/artist. Back in my first year at university, I decided I would start drawing comics as a way to remember some of my favourite student moments. I guess I just got annoyed with the flood of Facebook photo albums, and figured drawing would make for a more authentic retelling.
These simple little drawings were done in a notebook, on lined paper. By my second year, I had been upgraded to a proper sketchbook, however there were a lot less interesting things going on in my life at the time. As a result, the vast majority of that sketchbook was filled with the earliest version of Spartachick.
Spartachick’s been a fun project to work on – the story is always surprising me with last-minute changes – but by the end of my third year at university, I realized how much I missed my aimless, captioned doodles. So, I created this site, Felix Marcus…
Now, I’m sorry to anyone whose name I stole for this endeavour… but I needed a title, dammit, and since I’m in Classical Studies, I figured the more Latin it sounded, the better. More effective than Marcus the Lucky, I’d say.
